He slowed his pace a little, hoping she would too. It was easier to talk when they were not galloping, although he didn't care either way. He almost envied her -- At least she did have family. He didn't. Never really had, if he thought about it, but he didn't. Like everything bad, he ignored it.
Oh... I don't know... About... Fifty years? Sixty maybe.
He replied. After awhile, you tend to loose track, and he most certainly had. It didn't matter. He was stuck here for at least a few centuries more. And in what seemed like a few very short years, she would be gone, as would every other equine down below. Maybe some would join the imperial ranks, but it was doubtful. It always was. Then again, times were changing. He could feel it.

Summer I'd like to make myself believe That planet Earth turns slowly It's hard to say that I'd rather stay Awake when I'm asleep 'Cause everything is never as it seems
She willingly slowed and looked at him. That was a long time… Especially for a 5 year old mare. She frowned slightly thinking. ”That’s a long time… And all alone… That doesn’t seem fair to you.” She said softly, blue eyes distant as she tried to figuar out how in the world she would fix this… And nothing came to mind… She hated that. She wanted to help, but she couldn’t. That within it’s self bothered her…

Yes, well, the world isn't fair. That doesn't change for the immortal soul.
He replied, glancing over, watching her as she thought. He knew she wouldn't come up with anything to help him. There was never going to be a way. And so he lived his life on the run from that very fact, along with various other things. Things he didn't dare even think about.
But, you learn to simply live with it.

Summer sighed watching him. "Just simply living with it tends to kill you after a while... and by kill you is your left with a shell." She had seen a few mares who had that same problem. Running from their emotions... Like Winter... It made you cold and dangrous. "I personally don't want you to end up like my big Sister..."

He smiled over at her, only gentleness contained there in that chocolate gaze as the wind played with his mane, a shimmering of black, like rippling velvet. Then, he snorted softly and shook his head, chasing away bugs that were fake in a natural reaction, despite the knowledge they were not truly real.
It has not done so yet, and I highly doubt being alone will kill me nearly as fast as other things. Things you do not need to worry about, nor should you. Some things are better left in the dark.
He told her, reassuring her with a gentle touch of his nose to her crest. Or, at least, he hoped it was reassuring. He wasn't really sure, but he was trying. That's what counted, right? He hid the discomfort of talking about what hid in the dark entirely from her -- She would only worry more if he didn't, and ask questions that he didn't really have the answers to.

Summer nodded, at his words. Now she was very curious, but something in his voice and his touch told her to keep her mouth shut. She looked at him. ”There’s more the one way to die. I wasn’t talking physically.” She said with a slight role of her sholders, before lightly tapping him on the sholder and darting to the side. If he didn’t want to talk about it she wasn’t going to push it. At least not right now. She found herself very curious about Mord, and wanting to get much closer to him… but something was keeping her at bay… that was something she hated… but she’d live with this one. As for right now she was just having fun running… waiting for him to catch up.

He managed to snort out a reply, that went mumbled along the lines of 'I didn't mean physically', or something of that sort, before she was gone and he took off after her. My, my. Energy ball much? Yeah. He knew he couldn't say he wasn't, too, but, to be fair, he didn't tire anymore. One of those 'being dead' perks. Her, however... Well, she'd slow down eventually. He thundered up beside her, though his hooves literally made no sound seeing as they were back to running in the clouds. He would, however, have to take her back down soon... There was no doubt in that. Too much longer up here and it would be bad for her health. Although he ignored most consequences, that was not one of them.

Summer dodged slightly to the right when he suddenly appeared next to her after the world around her was turned into clouds. She laughed slightly, surpised. He was right there. She chuckled, dancing slightly, then picking up speed again. She liked running in the clouds… But she could feel that she was starting to tire… much quicker then she usually did. She slowed, frowning slightly. ”It’s like I’m climbing a mountain.” she said softly to herself. She’d raced up mountains only to get sick because she couldn’t breath… not good. Was she up to high? Was that the problem?

He ran his nose along her side, worried, hardly noticing what he was doing, throwing up a fake wall in front of her to stop her. It wouldn't hurt her -- She'd go right through it if she didn't stop. But it should startle her into stopping, so he slid to a stop himself.
It happens to mortals who come up here. A side effect. We need to go back. It'll kill you if we don't.
He told her, watching her, clearly concerned with her well being. Not that it was unusual for him, but still.

She noticed his nose on her side, but just bairly. As he spoke, and she nodded. She consentraited on herself, slowing her breathing, so that she could pay at least try to stay calm. ”We should go… It feels wrong.” she really didn’t like it. Why did this place do that to mortals? Was it because they didn’t belong?
