Raisa stood up from rolling in the dust and shook. She looked around; observing her surroundings. Well, at least she’d never need to worry about a dust bath. She stretched and yawned and began a swift trot. “This place is odd.” thought Raisa, “The way the wind s whistles through the canyon; it almost sounds like, voices or something.” Raisa shook her head scattering this thought. She’d think about it later, when there wasn’t fun to be had at someone else’s expense. Kicking her trot into a full gallop, she carried on like this for a while. Suddenly, she tucked her hindquarters underneath her and slid to a stop. With her nose pointed into the air, and nostrils scenting for what she had smelled only a moment before. She snorted and looked around her. She reared up and came down; slamming her hooves into the ground warningly. She had not been here long, and still didn’t quite have the lay of the land yet. Or the inhabitants. Luckily, she’d never been one to let her guard down anyway.

Touma, on a higher up ledge, watched all this carefully, an almost sadistic smirk on his face. He had allowed her to take the lead position along side him, yes, but that did not mean he wasn't ultimately in control. He always was. He could twist anyone around his little finger, figuratively speaking, and if one popped up that he couldn't... Well, they got burned to ash.
Seeing her finally stop, he leaped down the ledges, landing at a smooth trot, and circling around behind her, then around in front of her, ears flickering, eyes looking almost kind, though it was all an act. Always.
Raisa, dear. I trust you're settling in.

Raisa looked away from Touma then back again slowly; an almost bored look on her face. This stud thought he was so sly. But she knew better. Even if she hadn't, it wouldn't have mattered. She didn't trust. Not now, not before, not ever. He'd have to do better than that. Much better. Raisa stretched out a foreleg lazily and rubber her head against it. When finished, she replied "I'd be settling in better if there were anything to do here." Looking around at the dusty, almost barren landscape she snorted derisively and said "But there's not. Don't you have anything fun to do?" She glanced at him slyly as she said "Oh, I forgot. You're the big bad wolf. You don't do fun. You probably wouldn't even know what fun was if it bit you on the muzzle." Then for emphasis Raisa clacked her teeth once. Then she began to walk away, head low to the ground. Maybe if she were lucky she could find a rabbit or lizard to chase, even though that really didn't appeal to her much..

A harsh, dry laugh slipped out his muzzle at her attempt to mock him. As if that little would so much as phase him. No, not happening. Even Vow, with all her prowess couldn't. Who did this mare think she was? An imperial? Hah! She was a joke in comparison to those he truly feared.
What is fun for one is not necessarily fun for the other. If you don't like it, I'm not stopping you from leaving.
He replied, still with that bitter sweet tone he showed to select few, her included. She was lucky, really. He could have laid out the web like a spider and drawn her in only to kill her in the end. She didn't know that, though, so he didn't expect hr to appreciate his kindness.

Raisa snorted as she turned to face him. "Maybe it isn't any fun because haven't tried it. Ever consider that?" She glanced around her at the vast landscape as she said "You have all this, yet you do nothing except stand here pretending." She shook her mane carelessly as she said equally carelessly "I can't decide if it's stupidity, ignorance, or pure laziness." She took a step towards him and looking him right in the eye she said "Care to explain which one it is?" She knew it was probably a fourth option, but she didn't care. She knew this could be dangerous, but there was just something about him that made her feel like pushing buttons. But she had no idea why...

Actually, I prefer to think of it as reserving my energy for other pursuits.
He replied smoothly, hardly giving it a thought, with a grin on his face. He chuckled softly, mind flipping through all those lovely moments, where he'd been begged for mercy and shown none. He could have, of course he could have. But by that point, they knew his identity. He couldn't let it get out about his games, or they'd be stuck on stand still.
And, rather bluntly, it does take a bit of thought. And you don't think clearly and critically while chasing small creatures.

Raisa rolled her eyes at this as she said "I beg to differ. You have to think clearly and give in to instinct at the same time. Without it, you'll get in your own way and never catch the damn thing you're chasing." She let out a hoarse laugh as she realized he was avoiding some questions. "You never answered my question. What do you do for fun?" As she said this she turned, the light slanting off her dark gray coat, she looked every bit the dark mare she was. And in that moment, with all the light seeming to bounce off her coat, her eyes turned even darker than before. Seemingly onyx, yet sparkling and holding all the secrets of her lifetime before now. And in that moment, she saw something in his eyes as well, and wondered what he'd done and what had happened to him...

His laugh was very nearly insane, but yet perfectly in control. It wasn't that he was a psychopath who couldn't feel -- No, he just chose not to. Or, rather, it had very well been trained out of him. Mostly by the path he had chosen, though it had been started in his foalhood.
Let's just say, dear, you are very lucky I think oh so slightly higher of you than most others.
Amusement glittered in his eyes before he turned away slightly, ears flattening at the sound of rolling thunder as a drop of water landed on his nose, which had raised slightly to the sky. Although horses can't hiss, that was probably the closest description to the sound he made. He was a beast of fire, thanks to Pyron. Not that he'd ever particularly cared for rain.
Damn wet stuff
He grumbled, shaking his head, and slipping off to the ledges again until he found an over hang, ignoring her now, as if she wasn't there. He had a habit of that, as well.

Raisa snorted as the rain began to fall, steadily at first, then into an absolute downpour. She'd never been bothered by the rain as most were. She actually only felt peace when it rained, as if the rain itself were washing away all the stress of day to day life, as it struck her dark gray coat turning it almost black. The only bad thing about rain though was that it made mud. She supposed she could move, but that would mean moving to a part of the land that she had yet to venture to, or closer to Touma. Neither seemed to be a pleasant idea. Raisa shook her mane as the rain turned it damp and made it stick to her neck. In the course of the conversation; if you could call it that, she had decided that she liked Touma. It was refreshing for someone to be honest and yet play games with you all at the same time. He wasn't like everyone else and that comforted her a bit. However, at the same time she had a feeling he could turn on her in the blink of an eye, so she would have to keep a sharp eye on him, or to be precise, a sharper eye than she used for everyone else.
As she thought of this, her mind wandered back to what he had said "Let's just say, dear, you are very lucky I think oh so slightly higher of you than most others." It seemed like a double edged sword to her. On the one hand it would be flattering if she were into that kind of thing. And on the other, it meant she had farther to fall; metaphorically of course.
Raisa realized she was merely standing in the rain contemplating her short time in this land at the same time that she realized that mud was beginning to form on the ground. She sidestepped out of the mud surrounding her; it seemed to be thickest for some reason, and lifting her hooves a bit higher than normal, she delicately picked her way to a rockier part that had yet to be taken over. She glanced over to where Touma had disappeared to, then turned and began walking away. She had decided not to press her luck any further than she already had today. Who knew? Maybe she'd get lucky and there would be a magical place in this land where mud didn't form. She snorted "As if." She thought to herself. The whole place was basically dust. It was like a breeding ground for mud.
However, fate was apparently against her today because as she began to walk away, lightening struck a rock near her. She squealed, and quickly sidestepped; ears flattened, whites of her eyes showing. She no longer wished to be in the rain. Not when it decided to be like this. Again she glanced to where Touma had disappeared to and then out into the distance of the unexplored.
And for the first time in a long while, she was unsure of what to do...
(omg. I think I wrote like a frickin novel. lol Sry not much speech in this post. X.x)

Touma watched her carefully, waiting to see what she chose. He wasn't sure why she would just stand there, but, to each their own. Many didn't understand why he killed, after all, or they wouldn't if they knew. Trying to understand another's reasons for something was beyond anyone, but understanding what they would do.. Now that was what he tried to specialize as.
When she went to go away, he nearly laughed. But then the lightning struck. Having been turning away, he whipped back around to face the direction she was in. What was this? Why was he worried? He didn't know. He didn't want to know. His ears flattened for a moment in uncertainty, then he took a few steps out into the rain.
Come on, Raisa. You head out that way, you'll be the tallest thing out there. The lightning will go after you. You can... press me for answers, if you want. Just don't get yourself killed.
He nickered out to her over the rain and the thunder. Another lightning bolt flashed and touched down off to the side, striking the only nearby tree aflame. He glanced over at it, mere thought snuffing it out in an instant, then turned his attention back.

Raisa's ears went back and she flinched as the lightning struck again and swiftly turned and hastily moved over to where Touma was. She stood a little ways away from him and shook her coat (sort of like a dog), and then turned to look at him. She was curious as to why he had invited her to come over here. It was almost as if he had been worried about her. But that couldn't be. As far as she could tell, he cared about no one but himself. Raisa stood and merely stared at Touma for a moment. He had said she could press him for answers. "So why the sudden interest in whether I get struck by lightning or not?" Her ears were pricked forward; she was curious to hear his answer. As she was waiting, another round of lightning struck and she flinched away badly this time, her ears going back again, and the whites of her eyes showing. She loved the rain, but lightning was just something she could not handle at all... (sry crappy post. but its a post. lol )

He moved back under the ledge as she came over, ears flattening down against his head to block the sound as much as possible. A storm like this couldn't last long, at least, and it wouldn't take more than an hour to wear itself out and finally lighten up or stop.
He was caught off guard by her question, mostly because he actually wasn't sure himself. He shifted his weight nervously as he tried to think of some sort of answer. He couldn't.
I have no idea. Does it really matter?

Raisa stood and stared at him. He didn't know? What? She snorted and said "As a matter of fact it does matter. I would prefer to know if you plan on leaving me alive or if you are merely just keeping me alive so you can kill me later." She walked a few steps away from him and then looked back warily "So yes, it does matter." She stood there her ears flicking forward and back, picking up all the sounds of the storm.
A thought suddenly occurred to her. If everything was turning muddy outside then that meant there would be muddy water! She couldn't live with muddy water, that was just gross. As another round of lightning hit her ears went flat again and she bared her teeth at the storm. She knew she couldn't do anything to make it go away faster, but threatening it still made her feel like she was doing something rather than nothing.
"Well, while I'm still allowed to ask questions, what do you do to pass the time around here?" Raisa was still curious as to know exactly what she had gotten herself into. But unwilling to ask outright..

Well, then, perhaps you should have been more specific in your question. But, no, I don't plan on killing you. Doesn't mean I won't eventually but the thought has not yet crossed my mind on any level of short-term planning. Or any sort of planning for that matter.
He replied, amused by how she pulled away from him suddenly, as if for some strange reason he was suddenly going to snap and kill her now. As if. He would have left her to the lightning id he wanted her dead any time soon.
And I... plan things. Games, of a sort. Seeing how long I can get away acting like a perfect gentleman, finding out their deep, dark secrets and using those against them. As I said. You're lucky.

Raisa snorted as she said "Well in that case I feel so honored that you wouldn't play games with me. However, are you not even curious as to my deep, dark secrets?" She said the first part kind of sarcastically, but the last part she was genuinely curious about. She glanced at him and said "How long do these storms usually last?"
She glanced outside and noted that the storm seemed to be getting worse, not better. That made her nervous. Lightning always made her nervous. She could normally deal. But then again, there wasn't normally this much.
As lightning struck the ground, yet again, she jumped a little all the while wondering if these storms were a common occurrence...
