let's get ourselves started ;; ;; PERHAPS SOME BASICS
name ;; Chogan (CHO gin)
age ;; Six Years
gender ;; Male | Stallion
alliance ;; Light; Everwinter Valley
position ;; Lead Stallion
now that that's squared away ;; ;; LET'S GET MORE COMPLICATED
appearance ;; Chogan is definitely a rather intimidating horse. He stands at seventeen and a half hands at the wither, and he's overall very broad and muscular. This is all because of his breed, the draft horse, or more specifically a shire. His head is long and smooth; it curves slightly and has no prominent forehead, giving it a lean and handsome appearance. Eyes a nice, bright color (could be blue, but undeterminable), they're large and rounded and situated squarely on his face. Chogan's ears are small, but not too small. The horse's neck is thick and strong-looking, but at the same time it is arched gracefully and long compared to his frame. The shoulders are broad and sturdy, and his back is quite short although very muscled. Firm hindquarters finish off the deal, matching his wide chest. When it comes to his tail and mane, they look disheveled but are actually fine to the touch. His tail is long, and his mane gives off the appearance of having been cropped a bit; it hasn't, it just won't grow out very easily. Furthermore, his hooves are large and flattened at the bottom, giving him a lot of leverage on sketchy terrain. The "feathering" above them is just as per usual for most shires: silky and concealing the hoof with their length. Chogan's legs are on the verge of being bulky, but they aren't abnormal looking. Overall, he's a very big equine.
When it comes to his coat color and markings, he's the typical shire yet again. His main shade is black; it gleams in the sun, and when wet it looks extraordinarily glossy. His mane is black, although it has a white lock painted into it in random places (more closely to the head). His tail is the same way, although finding a white hair is harder to do. As far as markings go, he has a few, but they are extremely noticeable. Chogan has white on his head called a "bald" marking. It takes up most of his muzzle and stops once it reaches his eyes. It accentuates his large, bright eyes; he's happy about it, and he likes it. Then, of course, he has white "stockings" on his back legs that stop mid-leg. His front appendages have sock markings that don't go all too far above the feather. In summarization, Chogan is a black shire with a white head and legs. One can probably see now how he got his name.
personality ;; Although he may not look like it, Chogan is a docile soul. He doesn't like to instigate very much, and he's very judicious and fair when dealing with domestic issues. He believes that constant fighting isn't very good for the health, quite literally, and refrains from doing it if he doesn't have to. This is why he is easily annoyed by upstart stallions who act and look like they own the place. Only those types of horses will receive his wrath, but only if they dare oppose him. They rarely do, for he is so large, but it happens, surprisingly. Despite being composed and placid most of the time, he doesn't really rut away his time with anything recreational. Chogan is a pacifist, as said above, but he also doesn't chase doggedly after mares or terrorize younger males. He isn't a silvertongue either; he's a horse of few words, and they usually don't sound that bright. The shire acts like there is not a lot of life in him, although horses will be able to see him trotting about and keeping his land in order quite often. Some see him as dumb, as well. He isn't actually stupid; he knows what he's doing, although it may not always be the popular vote. He also permits a lot, which speaks loads about his character. He'll take back talk and disobedience sometimes, but if it gets too much he will punish the horse who went over the line.
Yes, he did get his name because of his black coat, but it's only part of it. Ever since he was a foal he has always had a fixation for birds. And not just birds. Black birds. He marvels at their ability to fly, and he loves their black wings and blood-shot eyes. While most fear them or think of them as only raucous nuisances, Chogan is fascinated with them and adores it when they land close to him. When he was older, the birds began to eat even more at his brain. It got to the point where he'd relish the times when he could run with them overhead, and indeed he did whenever he got the chance. Nowadays, the birds are still a big part of him; sometimes they will land at his side due to years of coaxing and trial and error. Every once in a while, one will even roost over his head in a nearby tree or in the snow at his hooves. Horses can find him sometimes whispering to them, and they'll swear that the crows, ravens, and black birds are talking right back to him. It's a nutty thing, one that almost cost him his reputation for sanity. No one really understands it, and truthfully Chogan doesn't really get it himself either. It's a just a thing for him, something he is glad for. The black birds are his friends. So deems his name.

sample post ;; Hoofs pounded on the icy ground rhythmically as he ran onward. Snow was kicked up in white clouds, leaving a trail behind the running stallion. His eyes were bright and wide, glancing upward from time to time as he tossed his large head. Chogan's tail was held high, and his mane was whirling back as air pressed past it. A very light and "at home" feeling was bubbling in his chest. It was a great day. The sky was clear with a white cumulus cloud marring the blue every now and then. It was chilly, as per usual in the valley, but Chogan was more than adapted to the climate with his thick hide and large stature. The ground and sparse trees were covered in snow; everything was either white or blue, and it was beautiful. The stallion stood out in the wonderland, his mainly black coat not blending in at all, period. It didn't bother him, though, for he had equally as obvious companions above.
The crows may not have known about him at all, but it was low in probability. The murder was flying fairly low, their black forms cawing and flapping as they went. From time to time as Chogan ran one of the birds would lower in altitude and cackle at him. This was, of course, being noticed. It enthused the shire horse, and his ear flicked toward the creature as it flew back up to join the others. This carried on for some while before the birds began to descend as one. Their bodies came closer together as the flapping began to die down. In a bunch of shrieks and laughing, the murder landed ungracefully in the snow, their beaks immediately working at the packed ice to reach the hidden soil. During all this Chogan had slowed his pace considerably until he had stopped altogether. He sidestepped slightly before taking a step or two forward, eyeing the birds. A few took notice of him, and even one cawed in his direction. His ears were focused on the loud bundle of feathers, and he was thoroughly amused. It always made him feel good when instead of being startled by his large frame, they stood their ground and even accepted him comfortably as being there. It showed a lot of improvement, and the equine was glad to see it.
now for a little peek ;; ;; WHO'S BEHIND THE MASK name ;; Apparently, Mil. other characters ;; Altsoba predicted activity ;; Everyday, most likely~! comments ;; Chogan was fun to write about, surprisingly...
