Points System

Feel free to post the reason you chose your answer below, or just post ideas. I'm up for just abut anything, but I was thinking along the lines of accessories(feathers, etc.) and, for higher points, you could even buy powers, which could get your equine more than one power eventually(though this would be rather expensive)

I don't think there is a reason for it.... Unless you want a way to make getting power's easier....

Yeah, I'm thinking that would be extremely expensive, and it would be only during certain times(like, a certain amount of days, around four probably, with no warning, at random point in the month).

However, the accessories could be available all the time, and would be cheaper. Since they really don't do anything besides allow a more character-specific appearance

Although I've only really been here for like, what, er, five seconds, I'd like to throw out my two cents~.

In my opinion, the points system can be kind of fun and annoying at the same time. I dunno, it can give you, like, motivation for posting if you're bloody well determined to get your character something uber special. Again, I don't really know where I'm going with this... Uh. Oh! They can be a bit of a hassle though, and are somewhat unnecessary. But like I said, they're just kind of fun to have and they also make certain things special if you have to build up the points to get them. ... That made absolutely no sense.

But anyway, yeah. My two cents~.

I believe so, because rereading my post now, at least over two hours later, I can't make a single inkling of sense out of it. xD

But you get what I mean! xD I think the points system would be fun, but it isn't necessary. :3

You could make the points for extra things, like a 2 week fast age for the foals. Or you could buy other animals to play in the game like a wolf or a mouse or something. You could also buy stuff like a colored name (which I could do cause I know how to) or you could use the points to have others make Graphics for you if you want. I'm on othersites where they do this and it makes the Roleplay experience THAT much better.

Well, there would be no point with fast aging, because here we allow you to age your character how you want Seeing as their lives are longer, due to the plotline.

Personally... I love point systems... if there's a valid... point to it. xD It is a good motivator, if what you can purchase are things a person would want... But if you're just installing a point system for the sake of installing, without ideas for good prizes and items, then it really is pointless. Hmm... but anyway, I guess that is kind of an "Ideas for Point System" thread too? =o WELL... if it is then...

I. Lands. Perhaps if a person builds up x amount of points, they can purchase rights to a certain land. They can discover it, name it, claim it, ect. Not to say that the land can't be stolen by another herd / character.

II. Immunity. From herd challenges, wars, misfortune, ect. For a set amount of time. A week?

III. Back from the Dead. In the event that a character does die, perhaps the ability to bring that character back from the dead can be... 'possible'? It'd definitely make for a wicked plot and story. :O

IV. Herd Dominance. Perhaps a herd leader can purchase more land for their herd? And the more land a herd owns, the more dominant and prominent that herd is. Perhaps there can be bonuses to having a large herd?

V. Layouts. Maybe if a player reaches x amount of points, they can receive a layout / skin in their honor?

VI. Powers. Maybe additional powers can be bought with points? Or perhaps existing powers can be "strengthened"?

Errrrrrrm and maybe more stuff. :/ But it really depends on the structure of the roleplay. A point system could really take alot of forms... depending. I mean if you want to have "herd ranking" or "power ranking", a point system would be EXCELLENT... And then I think I read somewhere about some talk about "lesser gods" or demi-gods? Points could come to play there too... Just gotta give it a thunk and get creative. ;D

Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of lands, immunity, back from the dead(though in a different manner of speaking--They'd become one of the imperials, the gods of the realm), and powers. Though skins are a decent enough idea. I was also thinking about, like, strange colored markings and accessories for cheaper, for those who like that kind of thing(I would totally love it for Mord and Star, at the least), and perhaps something for foaling, like increase in chances with twins(higher for a guarantee of one/two/three out of the three being healthy and making it through).

I really like those ideas, and I like the markings/accessories one most of all for some reason. xD I'm that kind of person who likes to be able to earn something that would contribute to my character being a little more different then the others. Also, since I'm already sharing my opinion about these suggestions, I really like Rock's last one, the one about power strengthening and add-ons. Like, earn a certain number of points and you can buy an increase in a horse's power. For example, this horse's fire powers have been increased, he can now start small wildfires, etc. I don't know where I'm going with this. I got a little too excited. xD
